People who defined 2008 — II

  • The Dark Knight
  • 2008’s highest grosser at box-office and all set to be re-released Jan’09 to cross the 1B mark, The Dark Knight hovered in news for Ledger’s death, his highly acclaimed performance and the movie’s outstanding sales record. The finest superhero movie yet, Christopher Nolan and his crew did a fab job in creating this dark thriller. Oscars may not do justice to this brilliant movie for many reasons but the commercial success might have just compensated for it.The cinema rarely gets any better.

  • Ben Bernanke and Henry Paulson
  • The duo had their worst nightmares come true. The lesser said the better.

  • Rafael Nadal
  • He came, he saw, he conquered. He seized the turf dearest to ex World No. 1 Roger Federer and produced one of the most magnificent streaks in tennis world ever. The list of accomplishments for the young Spaniard include French Open Slam, Wimbledon and Olympics Gold along with myriad of other tournaments victories. What bowls me over? — his innocent — “No?”

  • Vikram Pandit
  • Constantly under scrutiny after inheriting the troubled legacy of Chuck Prince, Pandit never settled down. The bothering phase is far from over and he knows he can be the next scapegoat.
